​Climate Change Performance Index 2025

On 20th November 2024, the Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI 2025) was released during the UN Climate Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan.

  • Despite dropping two spots, India ranked 10th among 63 countries assessed for their climate efforts. Its low per capita emissions and rapid renewable energy expansion contributed to its high performance.

Top Performers

  • The first three spots were left vacant, indicating no country performed well enough to achieve a "very high" rating.
  • Denmark ranked highest (technically 4th), followed by the Netherlands and the U.K.

Low Performers

  • China (55th) and the U.S. (57th) ranked very low due to heavy dependence on coal.
