International Container Transhipment Port
On 23rd November, 2023, the Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW) inspected the location of the planned International Container Transhipment Port (ICTP) on Galathea Bay, Great Nicobar Island.
About the ICTP
- The flagship program Sagarmala aims to modernize, mechanize, and enhance capacity of existing ports, making them more efficient and environment friendly.
- The development of this Mega Container Terminal is a part of the holistic development of Great Nicobar Island.
- The project is planned to be developed in four phases, with Phase 1 proposed to be commissioned in the year 2028 with a handling capacity of approximately 4 Million (twenty-foot equivalent ....
