- Gamaka exponent and guru H. R. Keshava Murthy has passed away on 21 December 2022.
- He was honoured with Padma Shri in 2022 in the field of arts.
- He publicised Kannada epics Kumaravyasas Bharatha and Jaiminis Bharatha. His variant of music later came to be known as Keshava Murthy gharana.
- Gamaka, also known as kaavya vaachana, is a form of storytelling by singing that originated in Karnataka. ....
