LVM3 M2 / OneWeb India-1 Mission
On 23rd October, 2022, the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) heaviest rocket, Launch Vehicle Mark 3 (LVM3 or GSLV Mark 3), orbited 36 broadband communication satellites of UK-based OneWeb, successfully completing the LVM3 M2 / OneWeb India-1 Mission. With this launch, LVM3 has made its entry into the global commercial launch service market.
About the Mission
- It is a dedicated commercial mission for a foreign customer OneWeb, through NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Department of Space, Government of India.
- A total of 36 OneWeb Gen-1 satellites of about 150 kg each totaling about 5,796 ....
