Vertical Launch Short Range Surface to Air Missile
On 24th June, 2022, the Vertical Launch Short Range Surface to Air Missile (VL-SRSAM) was successfully flight-tested by Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Navy from an Indian Naval Ship at Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha.
About VL-SRSAM
- Development: VL-SRSAM is an indigenous ship-borne weapon system developed by the DRDO for deployment in the Indian Naval warships.
- Objective: It is meant for neutralising various aerial threats at close ranges including sea-skimming targets.
- Range: The VL-SRSAM system has been designed to strike at the high-speed airborne targets at the range of 40km to 50km ....
