Industrial Regions
Maharashtra Industrial Region
- The Mumbai-Pune industrial zone, which has roots in colonial governance in India, is the largest industrial region in the nation. The growth of this region is related to the growth of the cotton textile industry. The coastal region of Ratnagiri offers both qualified and unskilled labour.
- Mumbai and Pune, two city-states that are geographically far apart, nevertheless create a robust economic region. The two cities are connected by an efficient electrified train connection. Greater Maharashtra has over 6000 registered firms, whilst Pune, the second-powerful centre on the continent, has about 1150 licenced manufacturers.
