India Elected to Two Bodies of Universal Postal Union
On 26th August, 2021, India was elected to the Council of Administration (CA) and the Postal Operations Council (POC) of Universal Postal Union (UPU).
- The vote was conducted at the 27th Universal Postal Union Congress organised in Abidjan, a city of Côte d'Ivoire.
About Universal Postal Union
- Established in 1874, the Universal Postal Union (UPU), with its headquarters in the Swiss capital Berne, is the world’s second oldest international organisation.
- With its 192 member countries, the UPU is the primary forum for cooperation among postal sector players.
