Gujarat Again Tops Perception Based National Logistics Index
On 11 September 2019 Commerce Ministry released a report containing the Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) Index in which Gujarat has topped the list. It is followed by Punjab and Andhra Pradesh; Himachal Pradesh stands last on the index.
Logistics Sector in India
- As per the Economic Survey 2017-18, the Indian logistics sector provides livelihood to more than 22 million people.
- The worth of Indian logistics market would be around USD 215 billion in next two years compared to about USD 160 billion currently.
