India Carrying out Uranium Exploration in Arunachal Pradesh
The Atomic Minerals Directorate (AMD) for Exploration and Research has taken up Uranium exploration in Arunachal Pradesh along India- China border.
- The exploration was taken up in Aalo of West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, about 619 metres from ground level.
Uranium
- Uranium (U) is a radioactive chemical element of the actinoid series of the periodic table having atomic number 92.
- It was discovered in 1789 by Martin Klaproth, a German chemist, in the mineral called pitchblende (U3O8) and was named after the planet Uranus.
