Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report
On 25th March, 2021, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) decided to introduce new requirements for sustainability reporting by listed entities.
- This new report shall be called the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) and shall replace the existing Business Responsibility Report (BRR).
Background
- In November 2018, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) constituted a Committee under Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh (Joint Secretary, MCA) on Business Responsibility Reporting(‘Committee’) for finalising Business Responsibility Reporting formats for listed and unlisted companies, based on the framework of the National Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct (NGRBC).
