National Annual Rural Sanitation Survey (NARSS 2018-19)
- The second National Annual Rural Sanitation Survey (NARSS 2018-19) was conducted between November 2018 and February 2019, to establish the progress over the baseline established by NARSS 2017-18.
- The NARSS 2018-19 is a third-party survey that has been conducted by the Independent Verification Agency (IVA) under the World Bank supported project. The third party includes IPE Global in a joint venture with Hindustan Thompson Ltd represented by Kantar Public.
Salient feature of NARSS 2018-19
- To overcome the statistical shortfalls of NARSS 2017-18.
- Use of the Probability Proportion to Size (PPS) sampling methodology, which yields results within a confidence interval of 95 percent.
