  • Sahitya Akademi award winning Bengali writer Atin Bandyopadhyay passed away on 19th January, 2019.
  • He was the winner of Sahitya Akademi award (2001) for his compilation of short stories ‘Panchashati Galpo’.
  • He had also received the Bankim Puraskar (1998) for ‘Dui Bharatbarsho’.
