Exoplanet Kepler-1649c Discovered
A team of scientists, while reviewing old observations from NASA’s Kepler space telescope, has recently discovered an Earth-size exoplanet, Kepler-1649c.
Kepler-1649c
- Robovetter, the computer algorithm developed to sort through the massive amounts of data from the Kepler spacecraft, had mislabelled the exoplanet but researchers reviewing Kepler data correctly identified it.
- Named Kepler-1649c, the planet orbits its star- a red dwarf- in the habitable zone and is 1.06 times larger than the Earth.
- The planet is located 300 light-years from the Earth.
- The light received by this planet from its star is about 75 per cent of what the Earth receives from our Sun, ....
