Horticulture Cluster Development Programme
On 1st June, 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare launched the Horticulture Cluster Development Programme (CDP) in order to promote the export of horticultural produce across the country.
Objective
- To create cluster-specific brands to enhance the competitiveness of cluster crops
- To leverage geographical specialisation and promote integrated and market-led development of horticulture clusters.
Need
- There is a need to develop such clusters throughout India which will be helping the farmers with the small size of holdings through the formation ofFarmers Producers Organisation( FPO’s).
