CMS-01 Communication Satellite
Recently, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched the country’s 42nd communication satellite named CMS-01. This is the second satellite launched by the space organisation amid the prevailing coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
- It was launched using PSLV-C50- India’s workhorse launch vehicle. PSLV-C50 was the 22nd flight of PSLV in the 'XL' configuration (with six strap-on motors), and the 77th launch vehicle mission from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota.
- CMS-01 is a communications satellite envisaged for providing services in extended C Band of the frequency spectrum and its coverage will include the Indian mainland, and the Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep islands. The satellite will ....
