Election Symbols
Recently, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has frozen the election symbol ‘Bungalow’ of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) amid dispute between two factions in the same party.
- The Commission said that the two factions could use free symbols available to field their candidates for the bypolls.
Election Symbol
- An electoral or election symbol is a standardized symbol allocated to a political party.
- They are used by the parties during their campaigning and are shown on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), where the voter chooses the symbol and votes for the associated party.
