Radio over Internet Protocol (RoIP)
- In a first for any Indian major port, a Radio over Internet Protocol (RoIP) System has been introduced at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (SMP), Kolkata.
- Covering the entire Hugli river estuary from Kolkata to Sandheads, it will provide effective long range marine communication.
- RoIP is a technology for transmitting radio communication signals using the Internet Protocol (IP) standard.
