DRDO Successfully Flight-tests Abhyas
On 22nd October, 2021, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight-tested Abhyas, the High-speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT), from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, off the coast of Bay of Bengal in Odisha.
- The performance of the target aircraft was monitored through telemetry and various tracking sensors including Radars and Electro Optical Tracking System (EOTS).
About Abhyas
- Abhyas is an indigenously developed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) that will be used as a target for the evaluation of various missile systems.
- Development: It has been designed and developed by DRDO’s Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru.
