Copperplate Inscriptions found at Srisailam Temple
The Bhramarambha Mallikarjuna Devasthanam, engaged in reviving ancient Ganta Matham near Srisailam temple complex, chanced upon six sets of copperplate inscriptions.There were 18 copper leaves found.Out of the six sets, four have inscriptions in Sanskrit and Nandi-Nāgarī script and the other two plates are in Telugu script.
About Srisailam Temple
- Also known as Mallikarjuna Temple, it is a Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Shiva, located at Srisailam in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh.
- The temple is built on the top of the Nallamala hills situated on the banks of River Krishna.
