Recently, the Indian and Malaysian Armies have launched a joint training exercise, named "Exercise Harimau Shakti 2023," in Umroi Cantonment, India, as confirmed by the Defence PRO of Guwahati.

- Participating Units: The Malaysian contingent comprises members of the 5th Royal Battalion of the Malaysian Army, while the Indian contingent is represented by a battalion from the Rajput Regiment.
- Exercise Duration: Exercise Harimau Shakti is scheduled to continue until November 5, 2023, following the previous iteration held in Pulai, Kluang, Malaysia, in November 2022.
- Training Objectives: The exercise's primary objective is to enhance military capabilities for Multi Domain Operations in non-standard scenarios.
- It will involve setting up a Joint Command Post and an integrated surveillance system.

- A 48-hour validation exercise in a semi-urban area will conclude the training.
