India and Vietnam Hold Fourth Policy Planning Dialogue

On 4th March 2025, India and Vietnam held the fourth Policy Planning Dialogue in Delhi, focusing on regional and global geopolitical issues, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

- Diplomatic Engagements: The Vietnamese delegation also met with Jaideep Mazumdar, Secretary (East), MEA, to further enhance cooperation.
- Strategic Ties: India and Vietnam share a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, formalized in 2016 during PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Vietnam.
- Historical Relations: India has maintained strong ties with Vietnam since diplomatic relations were established in 1972, building on earlier engagements during the 1954 Geneva Accord.
- Future Cooperation: Both nations continue to strengthen multi-dimensional collaboration across security, trade, and regional stability.
