On 22nd January 2025, as part of the World Economic Forum’s Transitioning Industrial Clusters Initiative, 33 industrial clusters across 16 countries pledged to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while fostering economic growth and job creation.

- Significant Impact: The clusters represent potential CO2-equivalent emissions reductions of 832 million tonnes, comparable to Saudi Arabia's annual emissions, and contribute USD 492 billion to GDP while supporting 4.3 million jobs globally.
- India's Contribution: Five clusters from India, including Gopalpur Industrial Park (green energy tech), Kakinada Cluster (green ammonia and hydrogen), Kerala Green Hydrogen Valley (hydrogen transport), Mundra Cluster (green power integration), and Mumbai Green Hydrogen Cluster (hydrogen economy).
- Asia-Pacific Focus: New members from Thailand's Saraburi province and Australia underscore a commitment to clean-energy infrastructure in the region.
- Port-Based Clusters: New port-anchored clusters include Rotterdam, Gothenburg, and Solent from Europe, Jubail Industrial City from the Middle East, and Cartagena Industrial Cluster and the Ports of Acu from South America.
- Innovative Collaboration: The initiative promotes collaborative business models and digital technology to advance clean-energy deployment and economic growth.
