EPFO Simplifies Online Profile Update Process

On 19th January 2025, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) made it easier for members to update their profiles online without the need for document uploads, benefiting nearly 3.9 lakh individuals.

  • Members with a validated Universal Account Number (UAN) linked to Aadhaar can update their profiles online without uploading additional documents.
  • The updates include changes to name, date of birth, gender, nationality, parents' names, and employment details, such as joining and leaving dates.
  • Around 3.9 lakh pending requests for profile updates are expected to benefit immediately from this simplified process.
  • The Labour and Employment Ministry emphasized the importance of maintaining consistent and authentic personal data in EPFO’s database for seamless service delivery.
  • Members with UANs generated before October 1, 2017, must seek employer certification for profile updates.
