In December 2024, Oxford University’s Saïd Business School commended PM Modi’s PRAGATI system for accelerating 340 projects worth $205 billion, transforming India's infrastructure and economy.
- The study, From Gridlock to Growth highlighted PRAGATI’s success in infrastructure project monitoring since its inception in 2015.
- PRAGATI, which stands for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, uses real-time data, drone feeds, and video conferencing to ensure timely project completion.
- It integrates stakeholders from Central and State governments onto a unified platform, enabling collaborative solutions to challenges such as land acquisition and inter-ministerial coordination.
- According to the report, every rupee spent on infrastructure under PRAGATI contributes Rs 2.5 to Rs 3.5 to GDP, highlighting its significant economic multiplier effect.
- The system has expedited projects providing roads, railways, water, and electricity, significantly improving the quality of life for millions of Indians.
- PRAGATI emphasizes sustainability, promoting green technologies and expediting environmental clearances, ensuring inclusive and eco-friendly development.
