On 18th Nov 2024, Indian External Affairs Minister (EAM) met with Chinese Foreign Minister to discuss key future initiatives on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro.

- Progress in Disengagement: India and China have successfully completed disengagement at two critical friction points—Depsang Plains and Demchok—along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), contributing to maintaining peace and stability in border areas.
- Bilateral Cooperation Plans: The two foreign ministers discussed several initiatives aimed at enhancing bilateral relations, including the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, data sharing on trans-border rivers, resumption of direct flights, and media exchanges.
