On 19th September, 2024, the British Council introduced the Climate Futures: South Asia programme to promote sustainable practices in the arts sector and offer financial grants for climate-related creative projects.

- Artists and cultural organisations will be eligible to receive grants of £15,000 from the British Council to support innovative projects addressing the climate emergency.
- The programme seeks to encourage artistic collaborations that promote climate-conscious initiatives, helping the creative community contribute to climate change solutions.
- To guide applicants, the British Council will host informational sessions on October 8 and 22, offering advice on the application process and strategies to improve the chances of securing funding.
- The grants will support projects that focus on curating artistic experiences raising awareness of the climate crisis, alongside developing decarbonisation strategies for organisations in the arts sector.
- Initiatives aiming to track and reduce carbon emissions, waste, and optimise infrastructure for climate change awareness will be prioritised under the grant programme.
