Key Initiatives for Cyber Crime Prevention

On 10th September, 2024, Union Home Minister addressed the first Foundation Day program of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, where he launched several significant initiatives aimed at enhancing cyber security in India.
Key Points
- Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC): Dedicated to tackling online financial crimes, the CFMC will bring together banks, financial institutions, telecom companies, and law enforcement agencies for coordinated action and cooperation.
- Samanvay Platform: This web-based module will serve as a comprehensive portal for data repository, crime mapping, and coordination among law enforcement agencies. It aims to improve data sharing and analytics across the country.
- Cyber Commandos Program: A new initiative to establish a specialized wing of 'Cyber Commandos' in states and central police organizations. These trained professionals will support cyber security efforts and assist in safeguarding the digital landscape.
- Suspect Registry: A national-level registry will be created, aggregating data on suspects and enhancing fraud risk management across the financial ecosystem.
