Greater Male Connectivity Project

On 10th September 2024, the High Commission of India announced the 12th review meeting of the Greater Male Connectivity Project (GMCP), co-chaired by Ambassador Munu Mahawar and attended by Maldives Minister Abdulla Muththalib, at Videsh Bhavan in Mumbai.

This is the first time the review meeting has been held in India, symbolizing the strong partnership and commitment to the flagship development cooperation project between the two nations.
Discussions during the meeting focused on the significant progress made in the GMCP, which aims to enhance infrastructure and connectivity in the Maldives.
Both India and the Maldives recognized the milestones achieved and deliberated on ways to ensure the project's timely and successful completion.
The GMCP is a cornerstone of bilateral cooperation between India and the Maldives, highlighting the depth of collaboration in infrastructure development.
The review underscored the shared goal of improving regional connectivity and fostering economic growth through enhanced transportation and communication networks.
