50th Edition of G7 Summit

50th edition of G7 summit hosted by Italy is being held from June 13th to 15th, 2024, in Borgo Egnazia, Apulia, Italy.

Along with member countries the Italian presidency has also invited leaders from 12 countries and 5 international organisations to take part in some working sessions during the summit.

Key Points

Participation: the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and the United Kingdomas well as the chiefs of the European Council and the European Commission.
Agenda: The main issues to be discussed during the six working sessions are:
- Africa, climate change and development
- The ongoing situation in the Middle East
- Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine
- Migration
- Indo-Pacific and economic security
- Artificial intelligence, energy, Africa-Mediterranean
EU Representation: The EU will be represented by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
India Participation: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the summit. This marks India's eleventh participation in the G7 summit and Modi's fifth consecutive attendance.
