Jimex 24

On June 11th, 2024, Japan-India maritime exercise (Jimex 24) commenced at Yokosuka in Japan. Indian Navy’s indigenous Stealth Frigate INS Shivalik is participating in the bilateral maritime exercise.

Key Points

  • This is the eighth edition of JIMEX, since its inception in 2012.
  • The exercise includes both harbour and sea phases.
  • The harbour phase deals with professional, sports and social interactions.
  • In sea phase the two navies will jointly hone their war fighting skills at sea and enhance their interoperability through complex multi-discipline operations in the surface, sub-surface and air domains.
