DRDO Chairman Gets One Year Extension

On May 27th, 2024, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet granted an extension of one year to Dr. Samir. V. Kamath, the Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development, and Chairman, Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) up to 31st May 2025.

The extension comes as the government has set 31^st August 2024, deadline to implement the recommendations of former principal scientific advisor, Prof. K. Vijay Raghavan, to revamp the country's premier defense research agency.
Dr. Samir. V. Kamath was appointed as Secretary of the Department of Defence Research and Development (DDR&D) and the DRDO Chairman on 25th August 2022.
