Extension of Tenure of Chief of the Army Staff (COAS)

On May 26th, 2024, the Appointments Committee of Cabinet granted one month extension in tenure to Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) beyond his retirement date, upto 30th June 2024. He was due to retire on 31st May, 2024 on turning 62 years of age.
