Arti: Pink E-rickshaw Driver from UP Village Received Award

On May 24th Arti an 18-year-old Pink E-rickshaw driver from a village in Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh, received Amal Clooney Women's Empowerment Award in London.

In July 2023, Project Lehar, in collaboration with Prince's Trust International and the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), introduced Arti to the Indian government's Pink E-Rickshaw scheme.
She was honored for inspiring young women through her involvement with the government’s Pink E-rickshaw initiative.
Pink e-rickshaw initiative provides safe transport for other women with a mission to drive change.
The award is named after the world-renowned human rights barrister.
