The journey leading up to Pragyan '24 has been marked by a series of engaging events, workshops, and outreach programs aimed at democratizing access to technology across all sections of society. Ingenium, a highly anticipated nationwide technical competition, has attracted participation from colleges across the country. This premier event provides a platform for young technocrats to showcase their creativity through innovations and inventions, with a focus on healthcare, the environment, and defense technology for this year. The initial round of selections has been announced, promising an exciting journey towards the competition's conclusion.
In collaboration with SCIEnT, Sangam is set to host the conclusive stages of Pragyan's primary hardware hackathon, aligning with the themes of Healthcare, Environment, and Defence Technology. Sangam has crafted problem statements that will form the basis of an intense competition, adding an extra layer of excitement to this year's event.
The Pragyan Blog has experienced another successful year, featuring a diverse range of literary pieces covering various themes. Serving as a hub of knowledge and information, the blog has delved into topics ranging from mathematical wonders to architectural history and advancement, as well as the science behind faith.
The Pragyan Podcast has also made its mark with enlightening episodes such as "A Med-evil Conversation," focusing on the neglect women face in healthcare, and "An Illuminati(ng) Conversation," shedding light on intriguing conspiracy theories.
In the realm of social responsibility, Pragyan has initiated a venture called Bag Of Delights, aimed at improving the atmosphere and environment for children studying in government schools, benefiting hundreds of students.
IgNITTe and the technical clubs of NIT Trichy conducted an educational outreach program called Techids 2.0 on November 4th, 2023, involving over 300 school students in an immersive experience in the world of technology and innovation. The program included career guidance sessions and various technological workshops, providing valuable exposure to the budding young students.
A 32-hour hackathon, Hack-a-thon, took place on January 27th, 2024, at Virtusa Navalur Campus, Chennai. Participants addressed problem statements in domains such as Blockchain, Environmental Sustainability, and Smart City.
On August 23rd, 2023, ISRO achieved a historic milestone by landing on the Moon's South Pole, making India the first country to do so. Pragyan's Space Week paid tribute to the heroes and minds behind this achievement with a diverse array of guest lectures and social media posts featuring figures like Dr. P. Veeramuthuvel, the mission director of the incredible lunar mission.
Pragyan '24, in collaboration with the Technical Council, presented INHOTTS, a captivating 12-day collection of challenges and cutting-edge competitions. Partnering with the technical clubs of NITT, workshops were meticulously curated for freshers across various technical fields, offering opportunities to test cognitive skills and win cash prizes, making it an exciting experience for first-year students.
Pragyan, known for its diverse events, has organized them into seven clusters this time. MANIGMA focuses on management events such as Marketing Hub, Budget Showdown, Beer Factory, and Arcadia. Start-Up Arena provides aspiring entrepreneurs a unique platform to pitch ideas to early-stage investors. BYTEHOC, a strategy coding cluster,
challenges participants with events like TimeWarp, Code Character, Watch Tower, Tensor Craft, and Capture the Flag. ROBOSPIRE, the robotics cluster, features events such as Aero Rush, Fist of God, and Submerge.
PANDORA'S BOX offers a casual gaming experience with events like Friendly Feud, Clique and Clues, and the highly anticipated Pragyan Main Quiz. PHRONESIS, a puzzle cluster, includes events such as Bounty Quest, Echoes of Eternity, The Enigma Challenge, and Sherlocked. PIXALETTE presents a UI/UX challenge with events like Blueprint, Digitrix, and Pixel Pirates. INNOVIX, the cluster where worlds collide, includes events like Old Town Road, Water Rocketry, Aviatum, and Circuitrix spanning electrical, aeronautical, automotive, and mechanical engineering.
Apart from the events, Pragyan '24 will host a series of guest lectures featuring notable personalities such as Nobel Laureate Dr. Richard Robert, Amar Chitra Katha veteran Savio Mascarenhas, writers Shreya Dasgupta and Dr. Radhakrishnan Pillai, the duo of Anuj Dhar and Chandrachur Ghose, savant Arsh Ali, and ex-FBI agent Scott Augenbaum.
Workshops led by industry professionals in technology specializations, including CMOS Analog Circuit Design by Texas Instruments, building edge AI applications on the MAX7800X microprocessor by Analog Devices, and ethical hacking and cybersecurity by HT India Labs, will be a key component of Pragyan '24.
Participants will be inspired by displays of leading-edge robotics technology, including the Bionic Quadrupled Robot, Multi Humanoid Robot Show, Gesture Controlled Drone Experience, and UAV Drone by Garuda Aerospace.
Infotainment shows by Kashi Fire Crew, Light Crew, LED Poi, and Aerial Acts India, as well as a musical act by When Chai Meets Toast, add to the entertainment lineup.
Pragyan '24 culminates with the thrilling conclusion of Sangam and Ingenium, where the most brilliant minds in the country showcase captivating case studies and innovations, assessed by a panel of judges with extensive experience.
