Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI)

Recently, Union Health Secretary and Deputy Ambassador of Norway signed documents for the 4th phase of Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI), enhancing cooperation in maternal and child health care.

• NIPI Phase 4 extends cooperation between India and Norway in maternal and child health care.
• NIPI, established in 2006, focuses on reducing Maternal, Newborn, and Child Mortality in India, with strategic support to India's National Health Mission (NHM).
• NIPI Phase 3, aligned with India's National Health Policy (NHP) 2017, aims to scale up best practices in aspirational districts and strengthen innovation capacities in public health.
• NIPI's success in Phases 1 & 2 led to the signing of MOU for Phase 3, which includes sharing best practices globally and establishing an innovation hub.
